Ivor Novello-winning composer Hannah Peel, Kings Place Artist in Residence for Sound Unwrapped, presents a unique live version of Night Tracks, the award-winning BBC Radio 3 programme of which she is a presenter.
Featuring performances from her mentor, electronic pioneer and composer John Foxx, who will be playing a solo piano set, alongside artists including qanun player Maya Youssef, vocalist Hatis Noit, pianist/composer Shida Shahabi and the Ruisi Quartet, this promises to be a spell-binding, intimate evening of performance and conversation, offering a glimpse into Hannah’s sound world, and some of the music and musicians who inspire her.

Big House - Album release
The Ruisi Quartet makes its recording debut on Pentatone with Big House, bringing together music by Matthew Locke, Joseph Haydn and Oliver Leith. Spanning nearly four centuries, this combination of composers establishes a harmonious as well as dissonant relationship between past, present and future.

The Ruisi Quartet have been invited to appear on a new album of French music for voice and strings from famed British soprano Mary Bevan.
“Praised by Opera for her “dramatic wit and vocal control”, British soprano Mary Bevan is internationally renowned in baroque, classical and contemporary repertoire, and appears regularly with leading conductors, orchestras and ensembles around the world. She is a winner of the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Young Artist award and UK Critics’ Circle Award for Exceptional Young Talent in music and was awarded a MBE in the Queen’s birthday honours list in 2019.”

Due to the on-going global pandemic, all of the quartet’s planned performances for 2020 and early 2021 have been cancelled by the venues and organisations involved. We are currently re-negotiating these planned performances and hope to be able to perform live again from early 2021. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
